Timothy H. Bohrer, CPP - Owner & Principal Consultant
Tim has been creating competitive advantages in packaging for 30 years. As a packaging consultant, he works with both flexible and rigid structures in plastic, paper and composite packaging and the materials that form the foundation of these package types. He has extensive experience with companies using these packages for their products.
After earning BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and Purdue University, respectively, Tim led R&D efforts at American Can, James River, Fort James and Ivex Packaging. As Vice President/Chief Technology Officer for James River's Packaging Business, he built, equipped, staffed and managed their major packaging research operation in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tim formed Pac Advantage Consulting in April, 2003.
In addition, Tim has had responsibility for Marketing and Business Development, Intellectual Property, Quality, and Environmental Engineering and Compliance. He spearheaded a strategic acquisition in microwave packaging and then assumed P&L responsibility for that unit.
Tim has been an award-winning speaker at industry gatherings and has written publications primarily in the areas of the management of technology and microwave packaging. His inventions are the subject of issued and pending patent applications. He serves on the Advisory Board for Clemson University's Department of Packaging Science and is a past Trustee of a State of Ohio Technology Transfer Institute.
Tim is a member of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), earning their Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) designation; the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI); and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE). He is a member of IoPP's Consultants Council and the SPE Consultants Circle.
